I'm DeWayne Barton, founder of the Affrilachian Artist Project. My work as an artist and activist focuses on highlighting the cultural heritage and contemporary issues faced by African Americans in the Appalachian region. Through mixed-media and found-art installations, I address social justice and environmental themes. With the Affrilachian Artist Project, I aim to create a supportive platform for artists of color, fostering community and cultural recognition.
